Abstract:

An empirical analysis of the choice of self-affirmationstrategy by future psychologists has been carried out. Interconnections of the choice of self-affirmation strategies with the time perspectives of personality have been identified and presented. Future psychologists first-year students most often focus on the hedonistic future, that can be explained by their age characteristics. Young people who use the self-suppression strategy in their lives mostly refer to the past experience in their thoughts and actions. Those who constructively assert themselves in life are more oriented towards the future. The relationship between the strategy of self-affirmation and the choice of the time perspective by a personality has been experimentally confirmed.
